Functional Geometry with

LucidFunGeo is a collection of algorithms to calculate "functional geometry" for lighting.

LucidFunGeo follows the "form follows function" or FFF principle for the design of "free form" shapes. The FFF principle is the design by lighting function, not by parameter. Instead of defining the reflector or refractor by a huge number of individual paramter, just specify the intended light direction angles along with the light source position and the software calculates the required parameter.

LucidFunGeo includes modules to:

  • create reflectors for beam pattern with a sharp cutoff line
  • create profiled reflectors or refractors with an particular beam pattern
  • create automotive projector lamps
  • approximate or interpolate curves and surfaces
  • create surfaces with lighting or optical features
  • compensate ray deviations from curved lens surfaces
