Exchanging Data with

LucidXchange is the seamless integration of LucidShape into other applications and exchanging CAD or lighting data with them.

We developed Plug-ins for the Rhinoceros CAD program, which allows to read and write our native geometry format (lug). Rhinoceros is an application which imports and exports all kinds of CAD-Files. That means you are able to use almost every external file format with LucidShape.

To be on the safe side, LucidShape supports the Rhino native file format 3DM, which is in fact an OpenSource file format that comes along with a powerful library called OpenNurbs, so your data will always be transferable.

Geometrical Data readable by LucidShape:

  • 3dm  - OpenSource Rhino Format
  • stl     - a Stereo lithography format with triangle meshes (import only)
  • dat    -  a simple point data file format with lines and quad meshes (import only)
  • lug    - LucidShape native

Rhinoceros is capable of the following file formats:

  • 3dm/openNURBS 2.0 (native
  • STEP
  • IGES
  • LUG (LucidShape's native format with our Plugins)
  • DWG/DXF (AutoCAD 2000, 14, 13, and 12)
  • SAT export (ACIS)
  • X_T export (Parasolid)
  • STL/SLC
  • 3DS
  • OBJ
  • LWO
  • VRML

Luminous Intensity Distributions  (LIDs)
